The Good Ship Recruitment

by sugarcoatedprincess

This poem is in response to the prompt found here:

Passing the bobbling barrel,
The Pirates head inside to see,
A man of which they’ve heard a lot,
Captain of the Recruitment Agency!

“So, my fine young boys, you wish,”
He opens with a wooden smile,
“To join my ship and the best crew,
Of all time. (within a nautical mile).”

“Captain, we desire a place,
Upon your good ship Recruitment.
A place in which to grow and gain,
And to sail wherever we may be sent.”

“Why, sign right here, my buccaneers.
I’ll lead you looting round the ports.
I’ll take you out to sea to see,
Thousands of treasures from old kings and courts.”
